Rockers & Springs and also feature one of a kind built-in dampener knobs with Latigo leather discs, all accenting the gold plated headlight bezel! The rear end including rear fender, tailight, and License plate bracket are all hinged and open to the side to allow for rear tire replacement when necessary! It has the standard points and Dyna coil, stock pistons, cams and lifters, the fuel is fed via a M88 Linkert Carburetor and has a dry sump oil system. This bike runs a standard 12 volt system and offers working headlight, tailight, signals and horn! The front forks were fabricated with the help of Factory H.D. The unique "Jockey Shift" or Hand Shift with Rocker foot clutch smoothly shifts the 4 speed transmission and is a Fabricated marvel that must be seen in person! Antique accents like Gas primer cups, Gas Tank syringe, and Glass reader gauges exemplify an early century motorcycle but are not required for operation. This build took over 6 months to complete and most parts were completely fabricated from scratch using Hand Tools and a welder! The 21" Custom 80 Spoke Front & Rear wheels from "American Wire Wheel" with Radial Rotors are extraordinary! The disc brake set up looks like fine art accenting the wheels! Tires are 90-90-21 up front and 120-70-21 on rear. But that is about the only info that will resemble its start as a 1979 Harley Davidson! The Ironhead 1000cc Sportster engine was chosen as the starting point of this project, the top end of this motor does not have through studs and allowed for heavy cosmetic modifications to produce the "One off" hand built "Copperhead" tribute you see today! This project was produced to portray the stylings and simple elegance of an early 1900's Harley Davidson but offer the owner features like electric start, disc brakes and modern controls! Finished in "Indian Burgundy" acrylic enamel paint, along with all hand painted lettering and striping, it is true to the vintage character it represents. It started its life as a 1979 Harley Davidson Sportster and is currently registered as such today. You are looking at a "One of A Kind" Hand Built Thunder Road Motorcycles' Custom 1917 Harley Davidson replica rightfully dubbed "CopperHead"! This Motorcycle has been featured in Magazines, Calenders, and Taken "Best Hand Built Motorcycle" awards at various shows! This bike is NOT a kit.
